RP4B 4GB How to play games on HDMI-1
-
Hello,
My apologies if this has been answered already but I have searched the forums and not found what I'm looking for.How to I make EmulationStation run on the second monitor? Currently I can only run it out to the monitor connected to HDMI-0. I would like to run it on the monitor connected to HDMI-1
Thanks for your help!!

It should work similarly on the 2nd miniHDMI port (HDMI-1), without any problems. What happens if you turn the monitor on and then start your Raspberry Pi ?

I cant get it to show on that monitor at all. Both are on and the desktop shows on the second monitor when EmulationStation is full screen on HDMI-0.
I tried moving the console window to the second monitor and then loading but it still shows full screen on the first monitor.
Is there a config variable that forces it to the second monitor or something?
I should also specify that I'm running EmulationStation in the Raspbian Desktop environment.

If you wish to extend your desktop, use the screen preferences application.
I should also specify that I'm running EmulationStation in the Raspbian Desktop environment.
That's not a supported configuration - RetroPie doesn't run under the desktop environment on the Pi.

I have dual monitors already set up on the newest version of Rasbpian and the desktop is extended. I did the manual install as per the instructions and Emulation Station runs fine on the main monitor but I was hoping to run it to the other HDMI port since thats connected to a TV. I did NOT install PIXEL.
Bringing up the console from the desktop environment and typing "emulationstation" brings it right up and full screen on HDMI-0.

try
framebuffer_priority=7
in config.txt
(works for me, I had to move from hdmi 0 as my fat micro hdmi adapter was pressing against the usb-c power connector)
