I'm attempting to launch CD32 BIN/CUE combinations using Amiberry via EmulationStation - as it's the only Amiga I've owned and I understand I need to stick to BIN/CUE for games which have CD Audio tracks.

So I set-up a default Amiberry UAE to load my CD32 BIOS/Kickstart files, and transferred a couple of test images - but they don't launch from ES. I get the CD32 Boot - but it's like the Disc Image isn't being passed to the emulator.

      CD32 Bootscreen

They same Images launch just fine if I open Amiberry (using F12 or separately in ES), mount the CUE files and hit Play..

The Amiberry issue-log suggests that launching/passing CUE's to the emulator - should be possible since v3.0 - and RetroPie is on v3.2.1

I've tried generating individual UAE's for the game files - but they don't seem to load the images beyond the boot-screen either.

      Am I doing something wrong?

Do the games have _CD32 in the .CUE filename?

        Currently running:
Retropie 4.8.9 on a Pi Zero 2W (Overclock Settings: CPU 1400Mhz)
        ES-DE on a GMKtec K6 (Windows 11, 32GB RAM)

          Hi @George-Spiggott

I do, for example; Alien Breed - Tower Assault (Europe)_CD32.cue

FILE "Alien Breed - Tower Assault (Europe).bin" BINARY
            TRACK 01 MODE1/2352
              INDEX 01 00:00:00

As you can see, the BIN doesn't (I on'y appended it to the CUE after reading a post). Could that be the issue?

I'm really greatful for any help.

No it is not needed for the .BIN files. Have you checked the CRCs for the Kickstart ROMS to make sure they are ok?

            https://cloanto.com/amiga/roms/

Also there is a WHDLoad (.LHA) version of Tower Assault AGA which is AFAIK identical (bar the FMV intro) to the CD32 version but more compact (under 3MB).

            Currently running:
Retropie 4.8.9 on a Pi Zero 2W (Overclock Settings: CPU 1400Mhz)
            ES-DE on a GMKtec K6 (Windows 11, 32GB RAM)

My Kickstart CRC's seem to be good and correspond to the Amiberry docs:

              87746be2 | CD32 Extended-ROM rev 40.60 (1993)(Commodore)(CD32).rom
              a6ce1636 | Kickstart v1.2 rev 33.180 (1986)(Commodore)(A500-A1000-A2000).rom
              c4f0f55f | Kickstart v1.3 rev 34.5 (1987)(Commodore)(A500-A1000-A2000-CDTV).rom
              64466c2a | Kickstart v2.05 rev 37.300 (1991)(Commodore)(A600HD).rom
              1e62d4a5 | Kickstart v3.1 rev 40.60 (1993)(Commodore)(CD32).rom
              88136ca9 | Kickstart v3.1 rev 40.63 (1993)(Commodore)(A500-A600-A2000).rom
              1483a091 | Kickstart v3.1 rev 40.68 (1993)(Commodore)(A1200).rom

I haven't tried the LHA's because I've more games, and would like to keep the FMV's and Audio tracks in-tact.

Are there any other avenues to explore?

@idemiq hello. Apologize for reopening that thread but I like when solutions are found whenever possible! CD32 is a bit tricky to get working but the good news is that it works!

Can you try renaming your .CUE that way and give it another try? Do not modify the .bin file or any other file(s) referenced inside that .cue.

                AlienBreedTowerAssault_v1.2_CD32.CUE

Your Kickstart roms appear to be correct. Yet I do see that you put these inside BIOS/amiga folder. I'd recommend to just go with BIOS instead. Therefore move any KS file up to the BIOS folder of Retropie and delete the BIOS/amiga folder for now. To be sure.

Also after you renamed the .CUE and moved the KS roms as mentioned above, please ensure to delete any .uae you have generated (back them up somewhere else if you want).

If the above works then you'll have to rename the .cue the same way the games are being referenced in the whdload_db.xml file (search for CD32). Which you could find under <Retropie>configs/amiga/amiberry/whdboot/game-data.

                Hope this helps.
