Pretty sure that RetroPie isn't ready for being installed on 64-bit OSes first and secondly, Dolphin isn't going to be remotely usable to be worth installing on a Pi 4 anyways.

@zerojay since some of the emulators need a 64bit OS thought i could do some sort of workaround to get things working on the pi4

mupen64plus built fine for me on aarch64. your fPIC build errors should not occur on current retropie + pi4 + aarch64 as per https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/blob/master/scriptmodules/emulators/mupen64plus.sh#L101 and https://github.com/mupen64plus/mupen64plus-core/blob/0493c9f1c33876173f7f0da14055e966be566c71/projects/unix/Makefile#L126-L132.

please fill out https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first so I can see your retropie version.

i suspect you have edited the retropie scripts, correct?

I have to apologise - I got the same error! Was caused by a recent change: https://github.com/mupen64plus/mupen64plus-ui-console/commit/e147b94f3c82866a42e3f72820e73c441158e7d5#comment

it has been reverted following discussion here: https://github.com/mupen64plus/mupen64plus-ui-console/pull/61

Please try again and it should work.
