Complete documentation of Emulationstation xml tags

Hi,

I am a new user, already completely sucked into retro gaming :-)
As an 80's teenager I especially love the old Arcade games and of course the Atari 2600/5200 roms.

I am currently building my own cabinet and trying to create my own theme. As an IT guy, I am aware of the general concepts and did a lot of research and reverse engineering too, I even read all the docs I could find ;-)

I am missing a complete reference for the Emulationstation version of Retropie. (2.93) I compiled the latest build on Ubuntu 20.04 and I did all the updates, so my installation is up to date. I read the THEMES.md but it leaves out carousels, video and whatever else I missed ;-)

Also I am trying to have a video play in the system view (old commercials of the systems), which crashes ES :-) Is that even possible?

Hi all,

I have to take back this question in embarassing shame, I was reading the original THEMES.md not the one from the RetroPie git. Its all there, I just was not looking thorough enough.

Maybe someone can help me with answering the other question. (Can I have a video in the systems view)

Videos on the system view are not supported in RetroPie's fork. I think there is another fork that supports this feature - https://github.com/batocera-linux/batocera-emulationstation.
