Why is pi 4 support still in "beta"?
-
don't get me wrong, this is not criticism. i very much appreciate all the hard work from all the developers here. But as i read the reactions in the forum (and i have the same experience myself) i am convinced pi 4 in combi with RetroPie is a very powerful combination and a great emulation experience and seems to be quite stable. However on 4.6 pi 4 support is stilled called beta.
I think it would do much more credit to the software and the developers to communicate full support.
So i was wondering: What is the reason why pi 4 support is still called beta?

From the the announcement page ...
We are marking the Raspberry Pi 4 image as beta for now – primarily as there are still some things to improve on, but most packages run well.

Vsync issues with FKMS I'm sure is part of that.

The pi4 drivers are still a wip and they aren't in charge of those. Then there's the slowdowns with emulationstation. I've no stability issues.
I have had stability issues with lakka, though.
