      Hi, I just installed the 4.6 version for the zero once from the pi manager and the other via win32disk imager, on both occasions for my pi zero 1.3 with the hubpiwi attached I couldn't get the hub WIFI to work, I keep getting the supplicant file error.
      which I did added to the boot partition no avail, I also got erratic gamepad disconnects (new logitech f310). Samba did not start properly so no file transfer from the Network(I had to use the canakit usb wifi dongle)

      all the issues went away after reverting to retropie 4.3, onboard WIFI works, gamepad works like a charm, I now can connect to the board from the network.

      Is it just me?
      By the way same thing happened with two different pi zeros 1.3.

        Have you set the Country from raspi-config before configuring Wi-Fi ? If hubpiwi requires an additional Wi-Fi driver, then maybe you need to install it before configuring the Wi-Fi.
