Unable to update setup script

@glennlake hummm...maybe youre right. Almost everytime Itried to update some emulator I've got some message like " time stamp xxxx.xx.xx is xxxxxx s in the future. I know how to work with DOS...but Linux is almost unknow to me. I've just started to " play" with " linux " derived computer by seting up my then new Raspberry PI 3 with retropie.

@glennlake If I use SUDO DATE in console, will it resolve the problem for good or I will have to do it each time I powerup my PI?

@perryrhodan Are you connecting to the internet via the ethernet or WiFi?

@glennlake via wifi. I tried this command : sudo dpkg-reconfigure tzdata ... But the system always return me the same erroneous date of " 27 dec 2015 " . So I set the date manually with sudo date. Now the update ( I restarted the package update from inside emulationstation) seem to work correctly ( I dont see anymore is in the future message ) for now. I think theres a trouble with date fetching with my PI. What do you think?

@BuZz I was unable to see the retropie version , if its supposed to be written when you open the retropie-setup script. But if I remember correctly I installed originally an image of retropie 3.7

For now, the retropie update process seem to work after the date correction I manually made. I will let you know if I still have some problems.

@perryrhodan OK. I put the info into a link that should explain what you need to do to have the date updated every time you boot up. The Pi does not have a real time clock so it can't keep time. http://pastebin.com/hDJWB6Ac Let me know it you need further help.

@glennlake thanks a lot. I will get you updated about my problem as soon as the retropie update finish. Hope its just a time/date problem.

Finally I was able to correct the problem that I was not able to update anything. For me it was the time and date setting that was not correct. Thanks for the helper here.
I saw that my PI clock stay at the same date and time of when I powered it off. So each time I powered it back on, the internal clock start. So it loose time. The time between powerup.
@glennlake I will try the solution you provided me. I'm not sure if I will be able to without a little help, but I will start to read what you have provided me first and try it by myself. Its the best way to learn ☺️ -
