Hi, I've just updated to 4.6.8 from an earlier 4.6.x build and I have lost all audio. I am running the KMS driver with the following changes to my config.txt
dtparam=audio=on
dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d,noaudioI tried changing these lines but still no audio.
#dtparam=audio=on
dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3dBefore the update I did today my audio was working fine.

I'm trying but I get the following error if I try to edit anything except headphones.
"This sound device does not have any controls."
To get any audio settings to function I have changed my config.txt to the following.
dtparam=audio=on
dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d -
On a hunch I decided to do another update and change my audio settings in my config.txt back. I now have audio back.
Is the update process sensitive to the monitor features? The monitor I had connected may have had no speakers. I am thinking maybe the HDMI audio drivers got uninstalled in the previous update.

RetroPie updates have nothing to do with the audio - it's the OS updates (kernel/firmware) that can affect it. Of course, using an experimental/beta driver might not be the most stable configuration at this time, so you might encounter issues with it from kernel/firmware version to another.
