      I am currently Running the latest version of retropie 4 on Pi4. For what ever reason I am unable to pair my XBOX One controller in the Bluetooth menu. I am able to see the device and select the device for pairing, but regardless of which option I pick, the script that follows always results in the same error "Operation currently not available". It is at this point I am also stranded in the console and i am forced to reset.

      I use this XBOX One controller on the same pi4 on Rasbian (separate SD ) via Bluetooth with no issues.

      Has anyone else run into and overcome this issue? Getting kind of tired using my old wire 360 controller on retropie.

      Thanks

      Raspberry Pi 4 Model B 4GB
      XBOX One controller 1708 (latest firmware)
      RetroPie 4.7.1 (RPI4/400) installed via RPI imager
      16GB Scandisc card (OS)
      32 GB Toshiba Thumb drive(roms)

        Still having this issue. I have wasted MANY hours trying to resolve it based on P3 guides.

        Is this fixed or is there a solution? Retropie is indicates that it works with the XBOX controller but I see no evidence of this not have the released any patched to to fix this.

        Does someone want to weigh in here, a dev perhaps?

          @creadoris Please post your system details, as requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

          What model of Xbox One controller are you using ? Have you tried installing the xpadneo driver from the RetroPie drivers package section ?

              Did you also update your RetroPie installation ? Make sure you have the latest packages and OS updates, some issues were reported a while back with the bluetooth packages included in Raspberry Pi OS.
              Before attempting to pair the controller, make sure you remove it from the list of registered devices in the Bluetooth menu.

                @mitu

                This fixed the issue. I was under the false impression that a clean install from an imaged I downloaded would be the latest version.

                Thank you for your help.
