      Hey there,
Could you please suggest what might be wrong with uploading roms through USB in Ubuntu?
I have Fat32 formatted USB stick with few roms addes to \retropie\roms\mame\ folder on the stick and >200 GB free drive space left. I waited few minutes and tried to restart both emulationstations as well as whole system but nothing happens at all.
I would be grateful for help.

I think that the usmromservice is not automatically installed and enabled when installed on a PC. Since Ubuntu has it's own auto-mounting programs, why don't you use the normal file manager to browse your USB and transfer the files ?

I will have to do that but using command shell - I have minimal Ubuntu installation with only core features and no GUI. I also don't use network features as computer itself is hidden in cab so it's not too convenient to put eth cable there :)

@Melvin-FoX Then install and enable the usbromservice and see if it works.

To do that, choose Retropie Setup in Emulation Station and then Manage Packages > Manage optional packages > usbromservice > Install from pre-compiled binary.

After installation, make sure that it's enabled under Retropie Setup > Configuration / Tools > usbromservice.

Thanks a lot for your help. It's not too convenient because as I mentioned - it's not easy to connect eth cable to this computer as it's far away from any rj45 socket so no package installation is available at the moment :/ I have to do it from manually from command shell.

This command will start the setup from the shell from the directory you cloned the Github repo to as described in the official installation instructions for Debian/Ubuntu:

                  sudo RetroPie-Setup/retropie_setup.sh

                  edit: see below

@Clyde, that's not true. It depends where do I clone github repo in Ubuntu. In my case it's /home/a1up/git/Retropie-Setup so please don't make additional confusion.
