      Hi there,

I just installed bezels on my retropie (I am on a laptop), and after I did some random stuff, each time I launch a game, the scale of the screen is smaller than the normal 4:3. So basically I have to go in retropiesettings-video-scale and change the size of the screen from "custom" to 4:3, and everything is fine. But once I exit the game and launching a new one, the size of the screen is again on "custom", and so each time I have to manually resize it to 4:3.

I tried everything, I turn the bezels overlay off and saving the core settings, but nothing, each time a load a game a message to the botthom lesft say "loading overlay settings", and I go on the quick menu under "overlay", the overlay settings are still on.

So basically is like I am not able to turn off the overlay scale settings, I even uninstalled the overlay from the retropie setting, but nothing. This is so annoing.

      Can somebody help me?

Hey @Tackskull, so I ran into the same issue....thinks it's a weird retroarch bug that happens but this is what I did to resolve and make sure 4:3 sticks:

        1. Load a game and then enter the retroarch settings. Set the video mode to 4:3 under video settings -> scaling
        2. If you haven't done so, set your overlay
        3. Go into quick menu -> overrides and save your game, directory or core overrides
        4. Then go to quick menu -> close content
        5. Check if your 4:3 setting is still set (if not set it again) under video settings
        6. Go to settings -> configuration and set the save configuration on exit to on (don't worry about this setting remaining on all the time as when you exit retroarch it resets back to off)
        7. Exit retroarch by going to quit retroarch

Next time you load a game, it should stick this time. Hope that helps!
