      Setup:

      • Raspberry pi 4
      • Retropie v4.6.7
      • HDMI monitor with no speakers
      • 3.5mm jack connected to a small amp

The volume coming through my speakers is too low.

At first, I was getting no sound out of the speakers. Then I went into the retropie-setup.sh > configuration > audio and set the audio to "headphones" and I was able to get some sound, but it was low.

If I run the command "amixer set PCM -- 100%" I get the following error "amixer: Unable to find simple control 'PCM',0".

I noticed that when Emulation Station starts, I get the error (multiple times):
"lvl0: VolumeControl::init() - Failed to find mixer elements!"

When I press start in Emulation Station and go into the audio settings, the volume is set to 0%. I can bring it up to 100%, but if I exit out and go back in, it resets to 0%.

I'm not sure if all of these are related, but these are all the things related to audio that I have found.

      Any help is greatly appreciated.
