      (system specs below)

Ok- so I am taking my retropie out of the office where I have been working on it to the tv in the living room. Things are looking good in general from each of my cores (PS1, N64, SNES, NES, Genesis, most arcade games) BUT when I run an arcade game using the FBNeo core, instead of running centered on the screen, the game shows up on the top left corner of the screen. I don't mind that it doesn't take up the full screen but I would love to have it centered. All of my video settings are the current standard settings for the cores. Any suggestions?

      Thanks in advance.

      David

      system:
      RetroPie 4.6.9
      Raspberry Pi 4B, 4GB ram
      Raspian Buster
4 amp power supply from Vilros

Update- I downloaded mame2015 and as I migrate the ROMS from lr-fbneo to lr-mame2015, the same game show up in the middle of the screen. I'm pretty sure I didn't change any settings in lr-fbneo, so I am not sure why that core was displaying video differently than other cores.

@DavidDraper please fill out all of https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first - particularly interested in the image used, and a verbose log.

@dankcushions - For the image, I am not 100% sure which one I used; I created the system a few months ago with whatever image was available for download from retropie.org at that time. It would have been the image available around July 2020. I don't know if that is the current image available to download today.

As for the verbose log file, I'm not enough of a techie to know how to do that immediately. I wasn't getting any error messages so I wasn't sure it was relevant. I'll look up the instructions and post it soon.

@dankcushions - thanks. I saved the log file at PasteBin. Here is the link:

FWIW, I am using a RetroFlag SNES style USB controller as well.

can you please upload this file also?

incidentally, you're running at 4k which, by default, will force 30hz, and bad performance with many emulators/emulationstation. you should change to a 1080p mode via raspi-config.

@dankcushions would it be useful to post the verbose log of the same game using lr-mame2015?

                      @dankcushions ok- weird.

I am using WINScp via SSH to access my retropie. I don't have anything besides emulation station running right now. When I go to /home/pi, all I see there is:

                      ..
                      /RetroPie
                      /RetroPie-Setup
                      shutdown -P

I don't see a .config director to navigate to. Any suggestions on where or how I can access .config?

                      I'll track down 1080 mode in raspi-config.

                      Thanks again!

                      David

                        FinalBurnNeo.cfg file:

                        https://pastebin.com/XJ7VDxri

(I used the find file function in WINScp. still not sure how to actually navigate to

                        /home/pi/.config/

                        thanks!

The . in /.config/ makes it a hidden folder. You would need to enable to option to 'show hidden files and folders' in your operating system to see them.

I'm not familiar with WinSCP, but from a normal SSH terminal you could use the cd command to change directory. Such as cd /home/pi/.config/

Since WinSCP appears to be a GUI interface, probably enabling the 'view hidden files and folders' would help you there as well.

@DavidDraper i would certainly consider deleting that /home/pi/.config/retroarch/config/FinalBurn Neo/FinalBurn Neo.cfg file and start overriding FBNeo config from scratch.
Some settings in there don't seem to make sense tbh, why did you enable runahead second instance for FBNeo ? Everything should work fine with single instance runahead, and if you find a single game where it doesn't, please report it.

@barbudreadmon Thanks; I'll try deleting FinalBurn Neo.cfg and see if that does it.

As for the second runahead- I am sure I didn't do that intentionally. As you can tell I'm not a techie and I don't edit files by hand unless I am following a tutorial. I am sure I never touched this file. I have run the update program a few times over the past few months and maybe that did something? Or something else I did changed the text in the file as a result? Not sure right now.
