i have a few folders mounted on a usb drive and linked with symlink.
ES sees the directory just fine and plays game from it great.
i did edit my Samba so i can see the USB drive with i use \retropie
is there anyway that i can get into the folder when i click on the symlink folder in roms folder.
i have my pc folder on the USB and i have it linked to the pc folder in the roms folder.
is there a way, when i click in the pc folder in the roms folder it takes me to the pc folder on my USB.
right now i get a error from windows saying i dont have permissions.
i have to go into the drive
externalto get in to the folder.
here is my Samba
[external] comment = external path = /media/usb0/ writeable = yes guest ok = yes create mask = 0644 directory mask = 0755 force user = pi
i cant remember if can be done or not
i did try this https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Running-ROMs-from-a-USB-drive/
but i could not get it to work. heck i even bricked my system, but i was able to edit my
fstabback so my system booted again.
Samba disables symlinks that point outside the shared folder, as a security measure. See https://www.samba.org/samba/docs/current/man-html/smb.conf.5.html#ALLOWINSECUREWIDELINKS. You can toggle back the option in
smb.conf, if you wish, just be aware of the implications.
