      Pi 4b, RetroPie 4.6.5
rtype2.zip (part of a clean 0.174 set, verified with clrmamepro)
      lr-mame2016

Any ideas why I would get this message on a rom that should be validated and working?

      Parameters:
      Executing: /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-mame2016/mamearcade2016_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/arcade/retroarch.cfg "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade/rtype2.zip" --appendconfig /dev/shm/retroarch.cfg
      SOURCE FILE: ../../../../../src/mame/drivers/m72.cpp
      PARENT: 0
      NAME: rtype2
      DESCRIPTION: R-Type II
      YEAR: 1989
      MANUFACTURER: Irem
Value not supported for option netdevprovider - falling back to auto
      /opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh: line 1259: 5315 Segmentation fault /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-mame2016/mamearcade2016_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/arcade/retroarch.cfg "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade/rtype2.zip" --appendconfig /dev/shm/retroarch.cfg

I'm not sure what to make of this error, or what to do, other than try another core/emulator with a different version of the rom.
But this rom SHOULD be working, as it passed validation with clrmamepro and is listed as "good" in this version of MAME.

@bollwerk I tried it now and sometimes the game loads, sometimes it doesn't, and sometimes it works without the menu screens. Weird. I am using an experimental kernel and the kms video driver so there might be bugs with that.

        Here's a verbose log: https://pastebin.com/25ZvhUBh

Seems to work fine on fb-neo.
