      RetroPie Version Used: 4.7.1
      Built From: retropie-buster-4.7.1-rpi4_400.img.gz
      USB Devices connected: XBox360 Controller
      Controller used: XBox360 Controller
      Error messages received: None
      Verbose log (if relevant): ?
      Guide used: no
      File: Rayman (E) [SLES-00049].bin
      Emulator: Retroarch - lr-pcsx-rearmed
      Attachment of config files: https://pastebin.com/FvcfPz2z
How to replicate the problem: Start the game

Moin, when i start Rayman for the PSX I get stuck on the Ubisoft Logo right after selecting a language. Since i have no clue how to fix this problem i wanted to try out a different core but i can't
find any under "Manage optional packages". Am i missing something? Or does somebody maybe know how to fix the freeze on the Ubisoft logo? Other games work fine and bios is available.

have you tried a different rom ?

my version is Rayman (USA) and it works fine, and is fully playable using lr-pcsx-rearmed

i was kinda hoping i could gift the retropie to my kids, and they can't rly speak english yet. i know the game doesnt contain much text but if there is another solution than just using the US version id prefer that.

            ok, i understand.

i just tried Rayman (USA) using lr-beetle-psx (found under Experimental Packages) and it runs terrible.

Gonna test a Europe version of Rayman and see how it goes ... will be back in 5 mins with the results

lr-beetle-psx is not enabled on the Pi or other SBC platform, is too slow to be usable. It's only enabled on the PC platform.

@adarkar Do you have the proper BIOS files for PSX copied to the BIOS folder ?

Just tested Rayman (Europe) and it works fine ... i am able to select language (English, French or German) and the game gets past the Ubisoft logo and am able to play the game using lr-pcsx-rearmed ... runs perfect too :)

Tested the game with Use BIOS = auto & Use BIOS = HLE ... both run fine.

Try BIOS = HLE ... if the game still doesn't work, it's most probably your Rom.

HLE (High-level emulation) is lr-pcsx-rearmed built-in emulated BIOS

and here's the Sony PSX BIOS files i have .. which the Use BIOS=auto looks for

                            alt text
