I have a 2tb seagate bup external hd in lakka i had zero problems with it now that i'm using retropie i had to reformat to fat32 because it wouldn't recognize anything, i could see it in the file manager but nothing would load in from it. So reformat to fat32 bamb everything perfect everything there. Buuuutttt it takes exactly 10m and 47 sec (not a typo i timed it)to load every time i turn it on. Aside from that everything else is perfect. I loaded my friends pi the same way but he has a Seagate barracuda internal 2tb hd (in a powered case externally obv.) that loaded in 1m 30s but says now after the initial start up takes a few min to load (4-5) his is fat32 as well i am aware now that there is a way to supposedly have ntsc work idk? I have about 1 tb of games is it just something i will have to deal with? I understand that it needs to sort thru the games and lists and that 1 tb of info is a lot to crunch quick but i figured it would index the lists and read in the background after startup for any changes or something of the like. Thoughts, suggestions, ... throw it out a window?¿?

How many games and files do you have on the external drive ?
Once EmulationStation creates the gamelists for each system, you can turn on the 'Parse Gamelists Only' option and on the next restart it will not re-scan the disc/folders.
