4-Player Arcade with Controlblock
-
I have a dedicated 4-player konami cabinet that I'm wanting to build a RetroPi in, and the cabinet has 4 joysticks. Is it possible to stack 2 control blocks together and allow for 4-player gaming?

Hopefully, someone who knows control block will comment. If the answer is no, you could use an IPAC4 which is what I have in my 4 player cocktail.

for my custom arcade cabinet, i have 2 joysticks with 11 buttons each other, every joysticks and buttons is wired on xin mo card on usb, 1 joystick per card. no problem after to detect it on retropie ;) some poeple used ipac. you need a controller card, i don't thinks the gpio of the pi have enought input pin for 4 players.

The hardware of the ControlBlock supports stacking on top of each other. Currently, the ControlBlock driver does not support multiple ControlBlocks, though. This will change in the feature as this is a planned feature, see https://github.com/petrockblog/ControlBlockService2/issues/7!

@petrockblog Will that be for just V2 of the ControlBlock or can the original support it with a new header?
-
@LaserGecko I am afraid that the 4-player-support will only be available for V2.X, because the schematics of the V1 boards do not support the stacking.
