Picade 8-inch USBC version + Pi4 4GB : emulationstation issue
-
I built the Picade 8-inch USB-C version with a brand new Pi4 4GB. I used an SD card with the official Retropie image flashed onto it. No matter what I do, though, emulationstation just shows up a blank screen until I F4 out of it.
I did install the Picade hat stuff. I did a complete reinstall of Retropie directly on the device as well using internet. I had to do the usual config.txt tweaking to get the hdmi to work (hdmi_force_hotplug=1 and hdmi_safe=1). I tried a variety of USBC power bricks. Nothing works.
At one point emulationstation did pop up, early on, and I managed to use it to set up my wifi. But it hasn't worked since. Another poster suggest the Pihat software might interfere with it but I don't know if that's true.
I'm now at my wits end with no further leads to try. Any other things I can try?
(I'm a Linux n00b despite the last few days being forced into something of a crash course to try and get this thing to work)
