roms don't appear on SSD with nespi4 case

hello, i have a nespi 4 case with an ssd (on retropie 4.71) for the media and the roms, but the games do not appear every time (approximately once in thirty). With a usb key everything works fine, but with the ssd it does not work. Someone have an idea for solve this problem ?

Probably the external disc is not fully mounted/available by the time EmulationStation starts. How did you configure the SSD disk - are you using the automatic or manual method from https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Running-ROMs-from-a-USB-drive/ ?

@wsamael hi, i had the same issue but left it on for a while, the copying takes long time.

Also, on usb 3 the performance was crawling so when switching the ssd to usb 2 it was a lot better. Informed reteoflag and they were working on a solution but nothing yet.

I don’t know if this will help but you can try it out. You can update the rom directories to see if it adds any files.

@wsamael I had problems with the SSD in the Nespi 4 but slightly different, I assume though because I use Attract Mode not Emulationstation. Maybe it is the same problem though. Games showed up ok for me, but the romlist is on the SD card so it should. Scrolling through it, so loading media, would be slow then freeze for a decent time before coming back. I followed the guide below and it fixed it for me, maybe it might fix your issue too?
