Amiga Roms just blank screen after boot
-
Pi Model or other hardware: pi400
Power Supply used: official pi pack in psu
RetroPie Version Used: 4.7.1
Built From: official raspberry pi imager
USB Devices connected: mouse / c64 usb contoller
Controller used: c64 usb contoller
Error messages received: none- blank screen after loading
Guide used: (I am trying to get Amiga emulation working on my pi400 but have reached a hurdle I cannot figure out. I know nothing about Linux and very little retropie understanding so quite possible its something simple.
When I go to load a game from a whdload file I get the amiberry logo (this is has different colours on some games if relevant), a small menu asking which version I want to load (such as amiga cd32 if its available on the whdload file) once I confirm on this screen the screen goes black and I get no further.
I can quit back to the retropie menu but no game loads.
I have tried several whdload lha files and confirmed that I have the three correct required kick start roms in their correct locations and these have been checked with checksum.
ANY help would be really appreciated as I have reached a brick wall and just run out of skill at this point.
What things can I troubleshoot?
Amiberry is being installed from source as per Dan Wood’s video.
I'm really stuck now so I'm open to any and all suggestions

@amiganoobie I will be watching this with interest too as i will be setting up with the same configuration as you at the weekend.
Do adf files work ok?

Well the good news is that I sorted it!
The problem was the whdload files that I had, tried another source and the games loaded without issue!
Only thing I would say is that I suspect there are still hours of tweaking ahead of me so it's no way near as easy as setting up a console such as a nes etc
For instance I cannot currently exit out of a game which uses the mouse and keyboard (such as lemmings) using the hotkeys on the joystick, so have had to pull the power which is unsustainable, but its all a move forward in the right direction :-)

Glad you got it sorted. I just hope the Roms I have work..seems strange that some would work from one source and not another.
As for the other problem with mouse based games.. Could you come back if you get that sorted mate

Press "F12" and choose "Quit". Way much better than pulling the cord! :/
