I'm currently running my raspberry pi 3b on a CRT and I can't get pixel desktop to show up. Retroarch and everything else shows up fine. I'm curious if you can even get pixel desktop to show up on a crt using composite cables. Thanks.

changing frame buffer resolution using runcommand seems to making progress. I believe that's the solution.

@uberlumby Hi! Sorry for bringing up the dead, but did you get this sorted?
I Remember I couldnt get the pixel desktop to play nice on my retropie crt setup. (I use pi2scart)

This time i wanna chuck a pi4 inside an old 80s computer case with a CRT PM..

@dipkid as an experienced user: are you using a special device (Pi2Scart, VGA666,...) to connect the Pi4 to a CRT?
I used to connect via the composite-out of the Pis, but struggled a lot with the Pi4.
The picture quality was by far not as good as with my Pi2 und Pi3.
Futhermore i dislike the fact that the overall performance decreases when using the composite-out on the Pi4.

So my idea was to use a Pi2Scart or VGA666, but all i could find are people running in issues with these devices using the Pi4.
It seems that they are not 100% compatible with the Pi4, so did you allready start a test run using a Pi4 with a CRT?

@sirhenrythe5th No, Iv heard similar regarding the pi4 and pi2scart, so havent begun fiddling with it yet. Which is a shame, cuz I really wanna play Naomi and Atomiswave on my 32" Triniton.
I do however have a pi3 connected with a pi2scart, and thats works and looks great!
I also messed around with the 3,5 jack to AV (rca). It works, but its messy, sometimes the red and yellow cables are mixed up with china cables etc. I def would recommend the pi2scart w a 3b+ if youre in possesion of tv with scart connection.
