I can't seem to find an option within my forum profile "Edit" options to change the 'avatar' (photo / image) shown. Is this not available to all forum users? I notice many other users with custom avatars. Thanks.

            "options to change the 'avatar'"
Yay - thank you both :)

@mitu - are the restrictions on editing "old" posts deliberate? I tried to make a little correction after a few hours, and edit is not an option any more.

@busywait Yes, for 'new users' there are a few restrictions, including editing your post after 1 hour. While for editing your avatar/profile you only need 1 point reputation, to get out of the 'new user' bucket you need to have at least 3.

Not against lowering the limits in general but it was balanced against spam etc at the time - I think I increased it to needing 1 reputation due to spammers using inappropriate imagery. I will lower avatar limit and check edit limits. But I may change again if it becomes an issue.

I have removed limits for user info, and the timelimit for post editing for new users.

I may have to tighten it up if it becomes a nuisance again for spammers.

For new users it's not too difficult to get at least 1 upvoted post. If asking for help, feel free also to join in another discussion or post something in general about your project. Sometimes saying thanks is enough to please an old developer :-)
