Attract Mode Shuts Down on Boot - HELP!
-
Hi, so my Retropie setup has been working great - nothing has changed at all yet when I turn it on now it shuts down as soon as I get to the Attract Mode menu? Really stuck on what is causing this! I can't log in via FTP as it shuts down before I get the chance... any help much appreciated!

@mrnoholster If this happened "all of a sudden" without any action on your part then maybe a piece of hardware bit the dust. Check your PSU. Do you have extra things plugged in (USB things)? Try it with the bare minimum.

@iandaemon No - I did move my unit into my arcade machine set up which is in a shed. Could the cold have affected it? Is there any way to access my SD card? I can boot into safe mode by adding the init/bash thing to the cmdline.txt but I don't know what to do from there. Still can't access WIFI with that method.

You can save the system log (
/var/log/messages
) to the/boot
partition, then you can put the sdcard into a PC and read the file from there, to check for any service that shuts down the system. -
Thanks guys - I managed to create another SD card image and used an SD reader to access the faulty one so at least I've rescued all my content!
