8bitdo bluetooth controller and ROMs slowly loading

Hi,
since a few weeks I used my 8bitdo SN30 Pro+ in xinput mode with my old and sturdy Retropie.
Raspberry Pi 3B
RetroPie based upon Debian StretchBesides some minor issues it worked reasonably well but a problem in FF8 forced me to upgrade. Now, after the upgrade, I experience this slow loading others already experienced.
I did not find any solution, yet, but maybe someone else did. I can only provide this information that it worked without such big delay on Raspbian Stretch. As the controller basically works with RetroArch, has anyone ever investigated what it does during this delay? Or where to look for information?

Seems like this issue. Try pairing the controller in Switch/Android mode instead of Xinput mode.
