Hi there, I'm rocking a Rpi4 (2GB RAM) since a couple of weeks ago. Today, however, after a system reboot something strange happened: the regular splashcreen didn't appear and instead I saw the rainbow screen on boot (which from what I've gathered is no good news), and then a lot of command lines appear (like usual, I guess) before getting stuck, at which point i can press F4 and use the command line regularly. I tried to run 'emulationstation' and 'exit' to no avail, so I guess the problem lies in emulationstation itself.

I'm running a clean image of retropie 4.7.1 downloaded from this site, and, other than the basic install, I got kodi, moonlight, and a python script to add background music to the menu; all of which had been working correctly for several days before this occurence.

I managed to get the emulationstation error logs, and it seems to be related to the theme files (may have been corrupted?), but I'm quite new in all of this so I frankly have no idea, here's the log: https://pastebin.com/n9zAX9zA

Thank you so much in advance :)

So, since I figured I had not much to lose, I decided to start anew, so I took th SD card, reflashed the image using balena etcher (same as first time) and setup retropie again. Everything went fine and I got to the emulationstation menu yet again (everything normal and alright so far), however, after the first reboot, the problem comes back: I am greeted by the rainbow screen, ending up in a black screen from which I can use the command line if I press F4 but I cannot access emulationstation at all. This makes me think the SD card is fine (as it let me reflash and everything alright) but somehow my raspberry Pi 4 itself is damaged, anyone got any ideas?

@rbezares I had this a couple of days back, somehow es had managed to remove it self, I refreshed the card and it happened again, although got slightly further in the boot as es did appear before crashing. I flashed a new image to a different micros and it has worked fine since so am putting it down to a bad card
