Error on resolution - Desktop Version
-
Hello guys!
I need help setting up the monitor / tv.
I use the desktop version with Linux 4.15.0-111-generic x86_64 GNU / Linux - Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS
Turning on the PC on a common PC monitor the resolution is normal, however when turning on a TV the screen is cut off, it is possible to notice the biggest difference in the bottom corner.
Cuts the screen in all directions
Unfortunately the CRT TV does not have many features for TV size, at most a WIDE 16: 9 YES / NO mode.
16:9 wide NO
16:9 wide YES
I have already researched in several forums and some solutions are restricted to the Pi version by activating overscan, which does not exist in the desktop version.
As you can see in the images, the only place I managed to adjust was inside the retroarch menu, but it doesn't work when the game is run, it seems that it uses the retropie / emustation pattern and cuts the sides.
Retroarch Settings
Scaling Mode looks fine... but not work!
Someone who had this type of problem and / or who knows how to solve it can help me please.
Thanks!

This option seems to be fine for the resolution - are you using it as the current option or did you toggle widescreen on ?
When using a desktop environment, like on a PC, you can usexrandr
to adjust the overscan:
