How to replicate the problem: scrape with skyscraper

      Hi all,

I already scraped all my systems with skyscraper. I now decided that I would also like videos to be downloaded, so I enabled that option in skyscraper.

When I now gather resources it says "Video: NO" for all roms. The only way it downloads the videos is when I enable the force cache refresh option. But as that means re-downloading all data, putting strain on screenscraper.fr and costing more time for me, I would rather just download the videos, not all other data.

Is there any way to accomplish this?

@kleingeld hmmmm I also have an issue with getting videos from Skyscraper but can't identify the issue. Have you made sure the DOWNLOAD VIDEOS option in the list is set to "enabled"?

Yes, there is a way to do this, gather around the campfire and listen to this:

          • First, You need to enable cache refresh as you mention
          • Then enable videos
          • Now disable covers, screenshot, wheel and marquee (you already have them cached, so it's ok to disable them temporarily, they won't be deleted unless you do so)
          • Now run the gathering phase for the platform. It will show "NO" for everything but the video and textual data as it now ignores the other media types as expected (but remember that you already have them in the cache, so no worries)
          • When it's done, RE-enable covers, screenshot, wheel and marquee (IMPORTANT!)
          • Disable cache refresh
          • Re-generate the gamelist

It should now have "YES" for all of the media for the platform, including videos.
