I have what I think might be an interesting question. Since the new M1 Macs use ARM processors like the Raspberry Pi, is it possible that Retropie could be installed on an M1 Mac? Or at the very least the source code compiled and stable enough to run? I would think that this lightning fast processor would be more than capable of running the emulators that don't run well on a Raspberry Pi, like those for Nintendo 64 and Sony PS2.

If someone needs a guinea pig, I am typing this on my M1 MacBook Air.

      TIA,
      Tim G

Given that Linux is not running on these new systems, the answer is no.
You can use something like OpenEMU, it's a nice retrogaming frontend + emulators package for macOS systems. Not sure if it's been ported to the new M1 platform or if it runs through the new Rosetta2 emulation layer.
