      I am just asking this ahead as I am waiting on a couple things to complete my arcade cabinet. Is there anything specific that I have to do in MAME/RetroPie to assign the buttons and joystick for each player 1 and 2 after I setup button assignment configs to definitely make them P1 and P2? I forgot how this worked. In the past I had a couple PS3 controller and a stick and those would do P1 and P2 but dont recall defining which was P1 or P2. I Think it automatically assigns them but want to make sure ahead of time. Thanks.

        @common763 you on a pi, cause if so, player number is assigned to controller by USB port. Top left is top priority, below that is 2nd, top right is 3rd and bottom right is last. So player one will always be the highest priority and so on...

          @lostless got it thanks. Just wanted to make sure because it didnt matter to me prior to doing the cabinet with the PS3 controllers and stick...Happy New Year!
