      Hey Mak107,

Retropie.org.uk doesn't support images that didn't come from the website, but some folks here can take a shot at figuring out what's going on.

First, usually getting RetroArch to show up is done by hitting "select" and "X", not "start" and "X." Does pressing select and X make a difference?

@mitu Hi, quick question. Suppose I were to install retropie and to add roms via a usb drive would I need to have a 64gb usb drive for a 64gb micro sd card and what rom sites would you recommend? Thanks for your assistance. Ps I was using a 16gb usb drive and the roms loaded however they didn't work when using them.

I'd suggest taking a look at the forum rules again.

Loading roms from an external USB driver can be easily set up with an automated method that is explained in the documentation.

@mak107 when you configured the controller, what key did you set up as the "special" key? the start button or something else?

@daviddraper Do you mean the hotkey button? If so it is the + button on a wired pro controller (For switch)

@mak107 bingo. The default combo for opening the retroarch menu in game is hotkey + x for snes/playstation/xbox style controllers. I dont know the switch pro contoller, but using thr "+" and "x" could be a place to start. Good luck.

@mak107 for what it's worth, there are a few buttons you do not want to assign to the special key/hot key.

I checked out the Switch Pro controller and using that controller's nomenclature, they are:

X button (special key + X combo opens the retroarch menu in game)
B button (special key + B resets the game)
start button (special key + start key quits the game to Emulation Station)
left control pad (special key + left control pad moves the save slot number down one)
right control pad (special key + right control pad moves the save slot number up one)
R button (special key + R button saves current game state to current save slot)
L button (special key + L button loads game state from current save slot)

                      Take care,

                      D
