Scan Line Shaders (Pi4 at 1080p)

Hello, I'm looking for opinions and shared experience :)
I've tried the crt-pi and zfast_standard_crt shaders - I like the look, especially with a CRT style bezel overlay for 224/240 line games.
I've worked out how to selectively disable them for vector games (Asteroids, etc), and how to use the vertical configurations when needed.
What styles of games or resolutions do you think look better without scan line effects, or with some particular configuration? Which systems do you "always" use them, and which cores/systems (on a Pi4) do you never use them?
