Hello to Everybody! Andy many thanks ahead for helping out.

I'm building my first retropi with a Pi4 which should be in the mail soon.

I've read the docs, but I'm not sure about the setup I want to do. Is it possible to configure retro pi both for both GPIO connected controller (like the monster joystick I want to get) AND a USB connected joystick like the Xbox adaptive controller? I'm not looking to use them both at the same time in a game, I just want either to be available.

My son has a disability so he needs the xbox adaptive controller and that is connected via USB. I'd like to have both systems available so that I can play it on my monster and he can play it on his adaptive controller without having to reboot into another configured retro pi installation.

Or would it just be easer to have two different sd cards, one configured for USB and the other for GPIO and just boot in to either when needed?

      thoughts?

      thanks!

It doesn't matter if you have both controllers configured/connected, they each get their own configuration so you can use them individually or at the same time.
