Re: PSX DualShock Controller not working

      Hello all,

I am trying to use a DualShock 2 on my Raspi 4B w/ RetroPie 4.7.3. I have a 2 port USB adapter see here.

My old PSX pads (w/o analog sticks) were plug and play. DualShocks, however, don't work. jstest does not register any inputs, no matter how hard I press any button.

I think there are many different versions of these adapters out there. They all look the same on the outside but are different on the inside. Some of them happen to work with dualshocks, some of them don't. The 2 I bought are of the latter kind. Surprise, surprise...

Has anybody figured out how to make them work?

@krazeetyger ya, these things seem to have issues with the current revisions, I have a version 1, 1.1 and 3. The 1 and 1.1 are from 5-8 years ago and work fine. But i have been unable to get the version 3 to work at all and it seems to require a driver in windows to work and no longer just acts like a generic hid controller. Too bad you never know what version you’re going to get when you buy them.

Ok, I guess there is not much I can do.
          Thanks @lostless
Can anybody recommend an adapter that works?
