Pi Model or other hardware: Pi 1B
      Power Supply used: 2.5A
      RetroPie Version Used :4.7.1
      Built From: Berryboot,
      USB Devices connected: HP Keyboard
      Controller used:
      Error messages received: incomplete roms
File: (File with issue - with FULL path)
      Emulator: MAME4ALL

      Hi,

As you will guess i am new to retropie/MAME. I am using an old Pi to have a go before buying a Pi3or4 that i wanted to create an arcade cabinet with. I have done a lot of reading around the subject including but not limited to the articles below.

Starting guides for retropie and Arcade
rbaker - Arcade Games and How to play them – A short non-technical guide.
floob - How to use MAME with RetroPie - Help Guide

I have a full set of roms for mame4all using rom version MAME 0.37b5 it about 2.4GB, from what i read these are the correct roms for mame4all according to the retropie Arcade section.

I have tried the roms in both ARCADE and mame4all directories, copied over via the network. I have copied over the entire package not just the roms, there is some xml file, png, sqlite a zip and the roms and sample folders.

Every rom i try just says error incomplete and goes back to the list. If i load a rom and press A to select the emulator it already has mame4all selected as default emulator.

I guess i'm hitting a brick wall here and just wanting to understand if people think its the rom pack i have or if i am missing something to get this to work. Perhaps i underestimated how complicated it is but i feel i am just missing something?

      Any help is greatly appreciated

      Thank you
