Can You Power-Off in Kids Mode?
-
I've been using kiosk mode recently, which I do like (so folks don't come alone mashing button and getting into menus they shouldn't be in by accident). However, kids mode is the most seamless version of what I'm looking for. But up until now, I've not used it, because it locks you out of the shutdown menu since the start button is not functional. I'm wondering if there is a way to use kids mode and shutdown the system (properly) without just cutting the power and risking corruption of the sd card. I don't have a power button on my pi4 right now, as I have not bought a new one yet (pi3 had one, worked well with the script). But is there another way? How do most folks use kids mode?

There's an option in EmulationStation to show the shutdown menu in Kids mode. Enable it before turning on Kids mode.

Yup, that's it. Working now. And funny thing is, I did see that menu and tried that before. But I was also editing the config files to try and update some other things for my build at the time, so not sure why it didn't take before (was still locking me out in kid's mode, regardless if I turned the option for the menu off or on). But that does work now. Thanks as always!
