      Hello,

I use a Raspberry pi 3 with a USB SNES controller.

The A button is used to access the selected game and the B button is mostly used for shooting (during Galaxian etc).

I hardly use the X and Y button but I want to build this retropie into a small cabinet.

So I want to know if I must add Arcade buttons for the X and Y button.

How can I find out in each game which buttons are used? So I can decide if I want to add this 2 hardly used buttons i my lay-out plan.

      Kind regards,

      Arie

@arie You might want to add them simply for hotkey support.

@arie For each game that you're interested in using you can look at their inputs in the RetroArch menu or MAME menu. Then you'll know how many buttons each game uses. (for example 0 like Pac-Man or 6 like Street Fighter II)

@iandaemon Tnx for replying but when I see this screen, where can I see this menu to find out how many buttons per game are used? I can go with Select and Start to differnt menu's but I can't find this info.

You purposely want to build a cab that can not play most games? 😯
Anyways you'll have to check the keys n the mame menu, i think by default you access that by holding start. you can also open it from the retroarch menu, you can not see it from within emulationstation like you're trying to do on the picture.
              Start the game first.
