Cannot mount roms stil!
-
Hi All,
I have trawled the forums but cant see anything that is helping yet.
I have an RT-AX56U router which I have a USB drive plugged into and which is where I stream all my films from to TV and Windows, So the share is working fine on the drive as I can access it from Windows.
However I am having major issues trying to get RetroPie to see the Roms on that same drive. At the moment I have entered
sudo mount -t cifs -o username=myuser,password=mypass,nounix,noserverino //192.168.50.1/sda1/retropie/roms /home/pi/RetroPie/roms
following the guide on this site. I assume that the user and pass is the router username and pass as thats where the storage is plugged into.
So I have made sure that that boot waits for network which was on the document. But when I load up RetroPie it just sits showing the screen and says configuration instead of showing all the roms. Where am I going wrong here, its driving me nuts.
I did have the roms inside other folders inside the rom folder so I thought that might be it, so I took out all the megadrive ones and put them in the root of roms but that made no difference. I thought it might be something to do with the SDA1 so took that out but that made no difference either. As far as I can see its all correct.
Can someone help please?
Cheers

Please add some info about your system, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.
If you enter the 'mount' command (with all those options), does it work ? What if you start EmulationStation afterwards ?

It’s an RPI 4 4GB with the latest build of RetroPie done from the imager that has all the different things you can install on to RPI.
When I do the sudo mount -a like the guide says it just goes to the next line, doesn’t say it’s failed, doesn’t say it’s succeeded either.

@jimiretro Usually you get a message only on errors.
If themount
command worked, then check if theroms
folder is populated, then start EmulatonStation.
