@dteam wow... you're artwork in the themes you made is great! I really like the .svg and .png choioces for the logos and many of the systems files look sharp and life-like.
If you want, you can use my Colecovision logo I created a few months ago. I made one look as close to the actual logo on the game system, unlike the "stacked" version.
Also, I have an Intellivision logo I'm happy to share as well. I used a purple "running man" instead of the standard issue one. It's not the same as what everyone else uses. I'm happy to have it open for use.
I can re-post them here if you want them
JamR
Do you know if anyone is continuing the "8-bit" run command screens? Now that lr-mess is coming to it's own, there are a lot of systems missing. I would try it myself but I have no idea how to pixelate the systems like the original artist did.

I created mine for many systems but not in 8 bits. It could be great if someone created a fork and continued what @Rookervik did.
For you logos, I found this one but not Intellivision:
-
@dteam I agree. I hope some one does.. in the meantime.. I'm all over your set! It's really nice!
I'll post my Intellivision logo later. Once I get home from work. I never posted it on the forum. I'm a huge INTV fan, so I wanted mine a little different than stock.
You're free to use either once you have them.

@folly That pic you posted looks like what I was talking about. Those look like Apple II games being played on the Apple IIgs BIOS/system.
The Apple IIgs was for lack of better comparison, similar in graphic level to an Amiga 500/1000. The Apple II(e) was similar to about an Atari 400/800.
I'll help you more with this later, or tomorrow for sure. But that's a start. The previous script had them split right. I don't know if it's all that necessary to get every variant to the system up and running right away. But for sure, these two need to work separate of each other. I think the Apple II(e) games could be played on a GS model though. So you're not out of the realm of possibility.
I'm no Apple expert.. but they are definitely different from each other.
-
-
Hard to see with my background. Is It easy for you to use different colors? brighter or white
-
@folly which script you use? I try lr-mess-basename and lr-mess-cmd but not work. In the log read: error parsing game path and sustem name and driver not found.... I try lr-mess-system-apple2gsr1-flop1 but retroarch start and freeze. I download bios correct. Beyond pinball and dark logic are game apple2 not apple2gs. An example Apple2gs games are alienmd.zip airball.zip arknoid2.zip
-
@dteam how about this using colors from the INTV palette?
-
@jamrom2

(Btw. I have to make long hours this week, so perhaps I am not able to post.)
I use lr-mess-system-apple2gsr1-flop1.
Have you tried with mame ?You should post the runcommand.log on pastebin so we can have a look at it.

Indeed I used an "Apple II" games on the gsr1.
Thanks for explaining, didn't know that they have better graphics like Amiga.
Good that we have separated these systems from each other. Will try some real gs stuff later.
Btw. nice theme stuff ;-)
(I have to make long hours this week, so perhaps I am not able to post.)

@folly ok later i post the log. i read https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1AQ28J9OUKg55R3d-TZkWO3GH50KjC2hHteCP1Bx59Ns/edit#gid=0
in third column rom extension... apple 2 does not work with zip files? for play dark logic e beyond pinball you use zip file or other?

If you update your theme in Retropie Theme menu, you will get your logo. Thanks , Nice logo!!
For your Coleco logo, I would like to use it to replace the one for Super Game Module. Do you have time to add Super Game Module to your logo to replace the one below?
For logos and themes, we should move our discussion to Request for artists working on themes - needs for (lr-mess/MAME) additions -
no prob. moved! Lol. I was kinda thinking the same
-
@jamrom2
Perfect!! -

I tried bypinbll.zip on
apple2ee
and that booted just fine so .zip files should work too.Just found some real apple2gs software and found Airball.zip .
I tried it onapple2gsr1
and used-flop3
because inside there is a .2mg and that is a 3.5'' double density image.
Both .2mg and .zip will work but my Airball.zip contained a subdirectory containing the .2mg file.
If you have that .zip file then that .zip file will not work.
So you have to repack it so it doesn't have the subdirectory.Airball booted with both lr-mess and mame and the mouse worked.
How to play is another story, but once we run thing we will discover this. Here is some more info about the media and the images.
Listing the slots will tell you what type of drives you have :pi@raspberrypi:~ $ /opt/retropie/emulators/mame/mame -listslots apple2gsr1 . etc...... . fdc:0 525 5.25" single density floppy drive fdc:1 525 5.25" single density floppy drive fdc:2 35dd Apple/Sony 3.5 DD (400/800K GCR) 35hd Apple/Sony 3.5 HD (Superdrive) 35sd Apple/Sony 3.5 SD (400K GCR) fdc:3 35dd Apple/Sony 3.5 DD (400/800K GCR) 35hd Apple/Sony 3.5 HD (Superdrive) 35sd Apple/Sony 3.5 SD (400K GCR)
And this will give you the media supported by the drives :
pi@raspberrypi:~ $ /opt/retropie/emulators/mame/mame -listmedia apple2gsr1 SYSTEM MEDIA NAME (brief) IMAGE FILE EXTENSIONS SUPPORTED ---------------- --------------------------- ------------------------------- apple2gsr1 floppydisk1 (flop1) .mfi .dfi .dsk .do .po .rti .edd .woz .nib apple2gsr1 floppydisk2 (flop2) .mfi .dfi .dsk .do .po .rti .edd .woz .nib apple2gsr1 floppydisk3 (flop3) .mfi .dfi .hfe .mfm .td0 .imd .d77 .d88 .1dd .cqm .cqi .dsk .ima .img .ufi .360 .ipf .dc42 .woz .2mg apple2gsr1 floppydisk4 (flop4) .mfi .dfi .hfe .mfm .td0 .imd .d77 .d88 .1dd .cqm .cqi .dsk .ima .img .ufi .360 .ipf .dc42 .woz .2mg
Indeed, just like @jamrom2 said it's like the Amiga graphics :
-
@folly wow very good. i try but i can't play.
i post you runcommand.log of apple2ee and apple2gsr1. i test two game but retroarch freeze and i can't play the gameapple2ee lr-mess-floppy bypinball.zip

So big question to you is do you have the most recent/good BIOS files in your mame directory in the BIOS directory?
you are missing: a2diskiing.7z(zip) and d2fdc.7z(zip) BIOS files.
use mame .231 and make sure you place them in ~/BIOS/mame
Google is your friend if you need help looking for the MESS bios files and they are listed along with the mame.231 roms. They are all lumped into the massive list, so you have to look through them all to find them. Sorry, but we're not allowed to say where you can get roms/bios files.
Once you have them downloaded and in the right place, try again.

@folly ok later i post the log. i read https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1AQ28J9OUKg55R3d-TZkWO3GH50KjC2hHteCP1Bx59Ns/edit#gid=0
in third column rom extension... apple 2 does not work with zip files? for play dark logic e beyond pinball you use zip file or other?
This is just a typo. Just about everything in Retropie supports zip, and 7z file structure. The emulator decompresses the file first, puts it in a temp directory, then runs it. All my Apple II games are zipped.

@jamrom2 ok i have only bios apple2gsr1
do you recommend me to download all bios? they are really many
