Commodore VIC20 - ROMs
-
Hello,
I'm just getting in to rediscovering an old favorite from way back, Cosmic Cruncher!
I've found these ROMs, but I can't tell if they're all different versions and need to pick one to run, or if they're in sequence where I need them all and need to figure out which one is the first to run.
I'm referencing Commodore 64 in the wiki.
- Cosmic Cruncher (1982)(Commodore)(NTSC-PAL)[a][A000].crt
- Cosmic Cruncher (1982)(Commodore)(NTSC-PAL)[A000].crt
- Cosmic Cruncher (1982)(Commodore)(NTSC-PAL)[a2][A000].crt
- Cosmic Cruncher (1982)(Commodore)(NTSC-PAL)[a3][A000].crt
- Cosmic Cruncher (1982)(Commodore)(NTSC-PAL)[a4][A000].crt
- Cosmic Cruncher (1982)(Commodore)(NTSC-PAL)[a5][A000].crt
- Cosmic Cruncher (1982)(Commodore)(NTSC-PAL)[f][A000].crt
- Cosmic Cruncher (1982)(Commodore)(NTSC-PAL)[t][a][A000].crt
- Cosmic Cruncher (1982)(Commodore)(NTSC-PAL)[t][A000].crt
Any ideas?

Have you tried just using the mega-cart image?
I just use a single entry in my c64 menu.
I then launch a image of the megacart. It has 99.9% of anything you want to run on the vic from a joystick driven menu.
And it works for either pal or ntsc emulation. The command to launch is.
xvic -cartmega mega-cart.rom -mcnvramwriteback -mcnvramfile mega-cart.nv
If you don’t have the nv file, I just created a blank file and let the emulator fill it in.
Later,

I have not tried using the mega-cart image, something I need to download using my google-fu?
I'm making a backup image of my system, then I'll try this.
Thanks!

I tried running this command while in
xvic
and got an out of memory error. Is this run on the rPi via ssh instead? (new to this emulator)If you don’t have the nv file, I just created a blank file and let the emulator fill it in.
Create the
mega-cart.nv
blank file in/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/c64
