Problem with Mario Golf: Advance Tour on lr-gpsp and Pi0
-
I tried different roms and validated the BIOS to be correct and be used by mBGA for example.
I'm using lr-gpsp on a Pi0 inside a GPi case and tried it with different versions of Retropie on either a Stretch and Buster image.
On neither of these I could get the game to get over the point of choosing the player, it always restarts at that point.
With mGBA there is no such issue with the same roms i tested but the overall performance is not good enough.
I also tried the gpsp standalone emulator and there I get the same error with the restarting loop right before choosing the player.
I also updated the lr-gpsp from source with no luck.
On the first start of the rom there is no GBA intro but after the restart there is the intro, so maybe it has something to do with the Intro and skipping it but i can't seem to be able to disable skipping it.
Are there known issues with GBA roms and the skip of the intro and what games have problems with that too, so i could test it? -
Please add the info requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

@mitu there is all the info, if you mean the Retropie version I explained I tried different versions, in detail from version 4.51 upwards.
What info would be missing else? -
@bebeidon The actual RetroPie version you have and the image you used for installation.
Anyway, the problem is not the Pi zero or the image, I don't think this ROM is properly emulated bylr-gpsp
, the same issue happens on my Pi4 (whilelr-mgba
works fine). -
@mitu I see thx, so do you think this is very specific or maybe more common and with more roms? or do you even know of a compatibility list of lr-gpsp?
