Recorded videos on Linux Mint, can't play them on Ubuntu or Windows
-
On my Linux Mint 20 XFCE computer, I recorded two gameplay videos for a game. I made the recording in Retropie, using the Retroarch interface.
The videos play smoothly on Linux Mint 20 XFCE. But, on my Ubuntu 20.10, Ubuntu 20.04, and Windows 10, they don't run. On VLC and on the default Windows video player, I get a black screen. They play on the standard Ubuntu video player, but the image is completely distorted (audio plays normally).
On Ubuntu, I have already installed the following packages:
ubuntu-restricted-extras
ffmpeg
libdvdnav4
libdvd-pkg
gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad
gstreamer1.0-plugins-ugly
libdvd-pkg
h264enc
libavcodec-extraI also tried to install the gstreamer1.0-libav package, but it says it is already installed.
In the standard Ubuntu video player, when I click on “properties”, it says that the encoder is H.264 (High 4: 4: 4 Profile), with 320x224 resolution, and 4045 kbps bitrate. The framerate says “N/A”. The files' extension is mkv.
Any suggestions?
