          @braxdabozz Please fill out all the info requested - including the RetroPie version and how you installed it.

            @mitu i have version 4.7.1, and i am using a 2.5 amp power supply. my sd card is 16 GB.

              Are you connected to the internet from your Pi ? Does installing other packages or updating RetroPie works ?

                @mitu I am connected to the internet, but I can't update or install anything.

                  Then maybe you're not really connected to the internet, but only to your network. If you exit EmulationStation and type

                  ping retropie.org.uk
                  

                  from the command prompt, do you get a reply ? You can interrupt the command with Ctrl + C.

                        @mitu oh i figured it out, my parents have an internet filter, and my pi's internet is off. thanks for the help!
