      I am quite new to Amiberry so I've been wrecking my head with this for the past couple of hours.

      EDIT: This post started as a question, but as I figured things out, I answered my own question. I hope this can help others who were as confused as me.

      I know now that in order to make Amiberry work, I need to obtain the correct ROM files from a legitimate source (Amiga Forever). These ARE NOT distributed with Amiberry or Retropie.

      Issue I had was with the documentation on Amiberry Wiki Vs Retropie Wiki, particularly on the naming of ROM files and where to place it.

      One mistake I was doing when reading the Retropie Wiki is that I was getting confused between the instructions for Amiberry emulator and the lr-puae emulator. The Amiga emulation page in the Retropie wiki (at time I am writing this) covers both emulators on the same page and the headers weren't clear to me at first. For Amiberry, the Retropie Wiki does not dictate how the ROMs should be named. Instead it links to the Amiberry Wiki for further information on that.

      • So I got the ROMs and placed them in the /home/pi/Retropie/BIOS.
      • The documentation says that Amiberry will detect the BIOS files and create the appropriate symlinks at : /opt/retropie/configs/amiga/amiberry/whdboot/save-data/Kickstarts. That didn't happen for me, so I started Amiberry and I chosen the Rescan Paths option.

      Here is the content of my Kickstarts directory before:

      pi@retropie:/opt/retropie/configs/amiga/amiberry/whdboot/save-data/Kickstarts$ ls -la
      total 48
      drwxr-xr-x 2 pi pi 4096 Mar  9 17:22 .
      drwxr-xr-x 6 pi pi 4096 Mar  9 17:22 ..
      -rw-r--r-- 1 pi pi    1 Mar  9 17:22 foo.txt
      -rwxr-xr-x 1 pi pi 3882 Mar  9 17:22 kick33180.A500.RTB
      -rwxr-xr-x 1 pi pi 3882 Mar  9 17:22 kick33192.A500.RTB
      -rwxr-xr-x 1 pi pi 4020 Mar  9 17:22 kick34005.A500.RTB
      -rwxr-xr-x 1 pi pi 5000 Mar  9 17:22 kick40063.A600.RTB
      -rwxr-xr-x 1 pi pi 5008 Mar  9 17:22 kick40068.A1200.RTB
      -rwxr-xr-x 1 pi pi 4976 Mar  9 17:22 kick40068.A4000.RTB

      And here is the contents of my Kickstarts directory after I ran the Rescan Paths option:

      pi@retropie:/opt/retropie/configs/amiga/amiberry/whdboot/save-data/Kickstarts$ ls -la
      total 72
      drwxr-xr-x 2 pi pi 4096 Mar 10 09:30 .
      drwxr-xr-x 6 pi pi 4096 Mar  9 17:22 ..
      -rw-r--r-- 1 pi pi    1 Mar  9 17:22 foo.txt
      lrwxrwxrwx 1 pi pi  109 Mar 10 09:30 kick33180.A500 -> '/opt/retropie/emulators/amiberry/kickstarts/Kickstart v1.2 rev 33.180 (1986)(Commodore)(A500-A1000-A2000).rom'

      -rwxr-xr-x 1 pi pi 5000 Mar  9 17:22 kick40063.A600.RTB
      lrwxrwxrwx 1 pi pi   97 Mar 10 09:30 kick40068.A1200 -> '/opt/retropie/emulators/amiberry/kickstarts/Kickstart v3.1 rev 40.68 (1993)(Commodore)(A1200).rom'
      -rwxr-xr-x 1 pi pi 5008 Mar  9 17:22 kick40068.A1200.RTB
      lrwxrwxrwx 1 pi pi   97 Mar 10 09:30 kick40068.A4000 -> '/opt/retropie/emulators/amiberry/kickstarts/Kickstart v3.1 rev 40.68 (1993)(Commodore)(A4000).rom'
      -rwxr-xr-x 1 pi pi 4976 Mar  9 17:22 kick40068.A4000.RTB

      PS: I wonder what are these .RTB files? They aren't ROMs. So what they?
