      I thought I'd seen a simple option to filter adult content from my game list (without having to manually remove the games from the XML file), but now I can't find it. I want to ensure adult games from Atari 2600 (like Beat em' and Eat em' for example) are not shown in the list when certain people are playing. How can I do this. Also, will these settings persist indefinitely after shutdown (so I don't have to keep resting them)?

        @alphabetapie You can set these as hidden per-ROM like you do "kids only" games in EmulationStation. It's the same menu where you scrape individual games too. You get to that menu by pressing 'select' when you're on the game title. Then edit the metadata. It's a "one-by-one" setting though in ES. This way doesn't do any mass changes.

        I believe you use CLMAMEPRO to generate a lists of "adult" or "non-adult" games.

          @iandaemon But if I did go through and set them all one-by-one, that is a permanent filter correct?

            @alphabetapie Short answer: Yes.

            Longer answer: It's set in the gamelist.xml file so it would be as persistent as other gamelist.xml change. (So... "Yes", it would persist from power cycle to power cycle, but could be overwritten by scraping or other application depending on the scraper/application.)

            I mark these as hidden and run EmulationStation in KIOSK mode to hide adult and non-working ROMs when I have people over. It's quick and easy to switch between KIOSK and FULL modes in EmulationStation.

              Much appreciated. Will try it and follow up if I have issues.

                  @iandaemon One quick follow-up. It seems I have found that Kiosk is the best in-between mode, as Kids removes a little too much (I still need to access the "sort by letter" option, since my collections are pretty massive. But I don't really like Favorites being there in the Kios mode. I think I read in another thread you mentioned you were able to unbind Favorites from the Y button, so it does nothing. Where is that config file located? Also, where is the directory of the Y button icon and the word "Favorites" at the bottom? I'd like to edit those out so it's not present in the theme.

                    @alphabetapie I think you can remove the "button hints" or whatever they're called at the bottom of the screen.

                    According to mitu in this thread, adding/deleting favorites is disabled by design in KIOSK mode: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/29960/problem-adding-favorites/3?_=1615605880384

                      That would be super helpful, but mine does not seem to act that way. I set it to kiosk mode and then on any game I hit the Y button on, it will still say "Adding/Removing From Favorites." Then if I filter by favorites in Kiosk, only those will show up. I would like this disabled completely if possible. I'm running the version of Retropie from the 4.7.1 image, EmulationStation version 2.9.6RP.

                      Can @mitu chime in on if I need to set something a certain way, or turn something off (or anyone that might know what the issue is getting these favorites to read-only)?
