DualShock 4 not working in PS1 Games
-
I’m having some trouble getting RetroArch to recognise my DualShock 4. The analog sticks work fine in EmulationStation, but not in any analog compatible PlayStation game. I read the guide (link below) but the options suggested don’t appear.
How to replicate the problem:
- Connect DualShock 4 via USB
- Configure in EmulationStation
- Launch analog compatible PS1 game (tested with Alien Resurrection, Need for Speed 3 and Metal Gear Solid).
- Launch RetroArch menu
- Go to Controls > Port 1 Controls > Device Type
Expected Result:
According to the guide, the available options should be “standard” and “DualShock”.
Actual Result:
Actual options are “None”, “RetroPad” and “RetroPad w/ Analog”... and none of these options allow my analog sticks to work in a PS1 game.

Ok, after some more digging around in the menu, it’s just a simple error in the documentation.
The correct path is: Quick Menu > Options > Pad # Type
