      Hi there,

EDIT: Fix was getting a better quality HDMI cable.

My screen on the TV is going black every ~5 seconds.
I've tried plenty of different config.txt variations but I couldn't get the issue solved. I ordered a second HDMI cable and waiting for it to be delivered to see if the issue is caused by the cable. I have a feeling that when playing a game the issue is somehow mitigated, it happens with a lower periodicity and with longer breaks.

      • Pi Model or other hardware: Raspberry PI1 B+
      • Power Supply used: Extrernal 5V Samsung charger (I don't get the yellow undervoltage detected icon)
      • RetroPie Version Used: 5.10.17+
      • USB Devices connected: 8BitDo Wireless USB adapter, USB stick with roms
        Controller used: ps4

I tried a different monitor and a different HDMI cable at our office and it worked fine with default config.txt values. Once I brought it home and connected to the TV (QA65LS03RAWXXY) the issues started happening.

I have a feeling that the black screen issue started only after loading emulationstation in the beginning with the default config.txt but then it started happening also during the boot sequence when I started playing around with the config.txt file.

      Current config.txt file: https://pastebin.com/1YspWKgg

Tried following different threads, e.g. this one: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/27546/hdmi-to-samsung-4k-tv-issue

But nothing has worked so far.
      Thanks a ton in advance,
      jokob

Try un-commenting the hdmi_safe=1 line from config.txt, just to check with a lower resolution. Most likely it's the video cable.

@mitu Thanks for the suggestion. Tried that already previously but it didn't work, but I will give it another go. I hope the new HDMI cable will fix the issue.
