Retropie power on/off and reset on raspberry pi 0
-
I'm new to this whole thing but am slowly gaining some ground. I got my retropie setup how I want it except for its power on and off switch and reset/quit emulation button functionality. I'm using a case from an unofficial Famicom system that shorted out and it has these on top. The switch is a generic 3 prongs (5 if you include the ones that hold it to the board) and a quick release button for its reset (which I need to replace). I've found online that if I connect to pins 5 and 6 I can create a short that will cause the system to turn on, which is nice but I want it to do a proper shutdown sequence when it recognizes the correct position (I feel like an idiot explaining the obvious to people with intelligence. Heh) of the switch and of course when it is flipped on to complete a circuit. The reset button I want to program it so that when pressed it only resets the emulation station. Kinda like a back to menu button when the hotkey doesn't work.
I hope someone can help me out, I feel like I'm asking alot. Heh
