I have a DragonRise Inc. Generic USB Joystick with arcade buttons. It worked fine with my Pi3b+. I have since moved to a Pi4 Model B and Emulationstation detects that there is a gamepad, but does not recognize when I press a button or move the joystick in order to map the new device. It works fine with my USB SNES and Genesis controllers.

When I run the jtest in Retropie, it comes back fine and shows real-time input.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

      Cheers,

@dozermufc Please add more info about your setup, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.
Can you also run EmulationStation with the --debug parameter (from the command line) and post the log file from the attempt of configuring the device ?

        emulationstation --debug

The log file can be found in \\retropie\configs\all\emulationstation\es_log.txt.

@mitu Thanks for your reply! I ended up removing the cfg files for the arcade button mapping and re-did the process. Success!

          Thanks again
