I've formatted it, placed RetroPi on it and some roms all fine, but when I took it out of my Pi and back into my PCs card reader to add some more ROMs the files have all changed. My ROMs folders have gone, there are now three removable drives on there that I can't access and one Boot (F:) drive with like 250MB space on it. Its full of .dfb and .dat files and a overlays folders. What's gone wrong with it?

@darksavior Ah I see! So I guess I can't move ROMs via my USB port anymore as the folders have all gone(?)

@colstar ...I've just realised my oversight/mistake!! I should be transferring them via my USB stick NOT the SD card!!! Oh boy, I feel real stupid right now! 😞

@colstar Well you could use a Linux Distro to mount your sd card and transfer roms as well. Samba and SSH require a network connection which is not always available. Elementary OS, Ubuntu and Linux Mint usually get recommended as begginer Linux OS distros.

@colstar you can transfer them via just your PC if your Pi is connected to the same internet network via Wi-Fi/ethernet. If you read the Samba-Shares section of the above "transferring roms" link it'll take you through it. Much easier

@hawkes_84 No it's fine, I am just getting completely comfused. I was taking my micro SD card out of my Pi and plugging it into my PC instead of my USB stick!! :s

@colstar yeah that's understandable if you are new to this. My point is you don't even have to use a UBS stick to transfer ROMs. Can do it all with your PC and its not even a very technical process. But if you like the USB way that's cool
